Sarah’s Bountiful Harvest Food Pantry, sponsored by the Lucille Thomas Women=s Missionary Society, ministers to those within the community surrounding our who are in need of supplemental food staples. Open twice a month, the pantry supplies bags of grocery to low income families and individuals. Food is also distributed in emergency situations. The food pantry has evolved to include clothing for men, women, and children.
Sick and Shut-in Prayer Ministry offers mini-worship experiences to sick and shut-in members and friends of Bethel A.M.E. Church. These weekly services include prayer, hymns, praise songs, scripture reading, and exhortation. This ministry is sponsored by the Lucille Thomas Womens Missionary Society and the Steward Board.
Street and Home Ministry provides an evangelical thrust into the neighborhoods surrounding Bethel A.M.E. Church. Members reach out to unchurched and unsaved persons through one-to-one and small group contacts on street corners. Christian literature is distributed to individual homes and wherever it is determined there is a need.
Women In Ministry Bible Study ministers to women through the study of Bible texts. Through these studies women are able to examine, redefine, and deepen their faith; address the social, economic, and psychological issues; and clarify the role of women in contemporary American society. This Bible study is open to all adult women regardless of age, ethnicity, or denominational affiliations.
Midweek Bible Study meets on Wednesday evening. This study ministers to those who seek to increase their knowledge and understanding of Scripture. These weekly sessions enable those in attendance to richly feed and nourished by the truths found in Gods Word.
Music Ministry provides a dynamic, uplifting musical experiences during worship services and on special occasions. The Sanctuary Choir and the Youth Choir use Christian music to preach the gospel message to all who hear them.
Hospitality and Courtesy Committee seeks to provide a warm friendly face to newcomers and visitors. Members serve as church greeters, send cards to visitors, new members, and sick and shut-in; and host a monthly Hospitality Hour.
Sacred Spaces ministry is designed to heal the broken pieces in the lives of women. Through large group and individual counseling sessions women are provided the comfort, support, guidance they need to transform their lives from misery and despair to the new hope and direction for their lives that can only be found in Christ Jesus.
Alcohol Anonymous meeting is held on Monday evenings. This Big Book Meeting ministers to all addictions - alcohol, drugs, eating, gambling, etc.
